Parks in DC

One of my favorite parks in DC is Haines Point. It's a pennisula carved by the Annacostia and Potomac Rivers just south of the National Mall. I'm training for the Army 10 miler (this Sunday!!), so the whole Clites family (me, Matt and Rex) went out for a run and to enjoy the beautiful weather this past weekend. Here's a clip.

Being in the park mood this weekend... we also ventured a little farther into Maryland and explored Chapman State Park. It's a beautiful property on the Potomac River with a mid-nineteenth century home known as Mount Aventine. I think we saw a bald eagle, and Rex loved chasing sticks in the water. (Photos courtesy of Friends of Chapman State Park)
